WEDNESDAY FAITH PROGRAM – WED 14 OCT AT 10AM
“Be holy, because I, the Lord your God, am holy.” Matt 5:48
When we hear these familiar words spoken by Jesus, many of us probably think: “That’s not possible for me. I’m not a saint. Jesus was only speaking figuratively.”
Theologian Fr (now Bishop) Robert Barron begs to differ. In fact, he believes that the greatest calling for all of us is to be a saint and our ultimate path to holiness is full of Untold Blessing. And that’s the title of the next video series in our Wednesday Faith Program – Untold Blessing: Three Paths to Holiness.
Presented by Bishop Barron in his down-to-earth yet captivating style, the videos will be shown over three sessions on the following dates:
- Wed 14 Oct Path 1 – Finding the Centre
- Wed 28 Oct Path 2 – Knowing you are a sinner
- Wed 11 Nov Path 3 – Realising your life is not about you
Place & Time: Parish meeting room 10am-11.30am
In Path 1 Fr Barron shows us that when Christ is unambiguously the centre of our life, everything falls into a harmonious pattern around it. As Christ says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and ……all these things shall be added to you.” When we allow Christ to be the centre and anchor of our life, we can be at peace even when there’s turmoil all around – like Jesus sleeping peacefully in Peter’s boat amidst a storm. In conclusion Fr Barron also gives us an eye-opening perspective on the Beatitudes in the gospel of Luke 6:20-23.
Come and join us as we journey towards holiness starting Wed 14 Oct.
All are welcome. Do come early to make a cuppa for yourself before we settle down for the video. The video will be followed by a short reflection and sharing.
