The Bateman Parish Pastoral Council invites parishioners to support our clergy by participating in the NOVENA FOR DEACONS from Tuesday 18 of December to Wednesday 26th December. Children and adults are invited and urged to partici-pate. The final day of the novena is timed to be on the feast day of St. Stephen who is the patron saint of deacons.As you may know a novena is an act of religious pious devotion originating in an-cient Christianity, often consisting of private or public prayers repeated for nine successive days. The parish council is inviting you to offer at least one ”Hail Mary” on each of the nine days. However, fasting, attending daily mass, or reciting the novena prayer (which you’ll find cards available in the foyer) are preferred options.
When you conclude your chosen novena prayer, please complete a NOTIFICATION SLIP place it in the box provided in the foyer of the church. Your name is not required. The slips will be collated and presented to Dc. Bruce as a sign of encouragement and support
