This is a special Jubilee event. The details are as follows:
- 8am: Mass in our parish church, St Thomas More
- 8:30 am: Travel to St Mary’s Cathedral by foot, train, or car
- Confession with Fr. Phong on the way
- Concludes with walking through the Holy Door at Saint Mary’s Cathedral
Parishioners are encouraged to travel to the Cathedral by foot, either walking the entire distance (15km, 3 and ½ hour walk) or part of the way – either to Bull Creek train station (2.2km, 30-minute walk) or Canning Bridge (6.3 km, 1 and ½ hour walk). Toilet and water stops are available along the route. Father Phong will ride his bike alongside walkers and be available for reconciliation.
By train: Park at Bull Creek/Murdoch train station and alight at Central Station. The Red Cat bus will transport you to Saint Mary’s Cathedral.
By car: It is recommended to park in the top car park adjacent to the cathedral, provided no other simultaneous function is taking place.
Plenary Indulgence: To receive an indulgence, certain conditions apply in addition to the pilgrimage: Mass, reconciliation, prayers for the Pope and his intentions (e.g., Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be).
For full details on other ways to obtain an indulgence during this Jubilee year, see this link: https://press.vatican.va/content/salastampa/en/bollettino/pubblico/2024/05/13/240513f.html.
