Dear Parishioners,
Please be informed that livestream broadcast of Sunday Mass is on every Sunday at 10.00am via this link:
While adhering to the current government regulation of “social distancing”, we can still find ways of staying connected with one another socially, spiritually, and praying for one another during this extraordinary time of our life.
I encourage you to make connection with us at our parish from any of the following communication platforms:
- St Thomas More, Bateman Parish website: batemancatholic.org
- Join our Parish Facebook group (for the adult community): https://www.facebook.com/groups/2555892488023089/?ref=share
- Register at St. Thomas More Catholic Flocknote at: stthomasmorecatholic.flocknote.com
We pray to the Risen Lord that during this time of Easter, may He be our guide to bring comfort in whatever life circumstances that we find ourselves in. Let us continue to be courageous on our life journey together, especially at this challenging time. Therefore, perseverance in faith and with the knowledge of prayerful support for one another, we can be strengthened and truly find the light of new hope in Jesus.
May God bless you all,
Fr. Phong Nguyen
Parish Priest
SLAVERY FREE CHOCOLATE
Pope Francis said that “every person ought to have the awareness that purchasing is always a moral – and not simply an economic – act”. Cocoa is a key ingredient of chocolate and many children in West Africa are enslaved to pick the cocoa beans. They will never taste the delicious chocolate their slavery helps produce. Buy only slavery-free chocolate to ensure no enslaved children were involved in the production. To buy slavery-free Easter chocolate look for any of these three certification symbols (below) on the wrappers: FAIRTRADE, Rainforest Alliance and UTZ. It’s delicious and you can buy it at ALDI, Haigh’s, and other leading supermarkets and shops. Change is coming so join the slavery-free movement.
