HOLY LAND COLLECTION – SUNDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2020
The annual collection for the support of the church in the Holy Land normally takes place on Good Friday. This year, due to the closure of churches around the world during Holy Week because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Pope Francis moved the date for this collection to Sunday September 13th to coincide with the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross on September 14th. This collection promotes the missionary work of the Church in the Holy Land by providing welfare assistance to local Christians in areas such as health, education, employment and housing. Last year, Australian Catholics donated $1.3 million to this cause, despite tough economic times, rural droughts and the increasing cost of living. This year, we are again facing great challenges due to COVID-19, but your generosity would again be greatly appreciated. Please remember the Christians of the Holy Land on Sunday on Sunday September 13th and please also keep them in your prayers.
Your contribution to the Holy Land can be placed in the box labelled, “Holy Land Collection”. Thank you!

WEDNESDAY FAITH PROGRAM – 23RD SEPTEMBER AT 10AM
In the last of this Conversion Video (Following the call of Christ) Bishop Baron who is one of the great spiritual teachers of our time from the Word of Fire series, looks at the Conversion stories of The Woman At The Well and The Journey of the Magi.
Many important bible characters located their blessings besides or had something to do with wells. Even the times, Noon, Night has significance.
What kind of spiritual wells exist in our life today. Jesus is thirsting for us and through our Conversion how can we proclaim the Good News to others. The Magi story looks at 5 steps to Conversion. Come and listen to how we can continue in our Conversion journey each day.
This session will be held on 23rd September at the Meeting room next to Parish Office. Time: 10 – 11.30 am. There will be an optional sharing after each story. All are welcome even if it is your first time. Coffee/tea is provided. Please bring your own cups.

FREEDOM, LOVE AND RESPONSIBILITY COURSE AT CYM
WEDNESDAY 2ND, 9TH, 16TH AND 23RD SEPTEMBER AT 7.30PM
In partnership with Centre for Faith Enrichment, this course is aimed at young adults and those interested in learning the Church’s deep and inspiring understanding of sexuality and sexual ethics. It will focus on Saint Pope John Paul II’s book Love and Responsibility, which arose from his pastoral care of young people, couples preparing for marriage and married couples. The idea behind the book was to assist people in maturing their eros from attraction, to romantic love, to true friendship, to the surrender of self in spousal love. We will discuss JPII’s concept of the primacy of the person in love, the sexual drive as part of our personhood, dealing with shame, the true meaning of chastity, and living justice in marriage.
