The ANZACs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) left Australian shores from Albany escorted by the Japanese Navy (our allies in WW1) heading for the battlefields in Gallipoli and later fighting on the Western Front in Belgium. The ANZACs forged a great reputation for their bravery in battle, and many lost their lives. Their courage in sacrificing their lives for our freedom reminds us of the courage of our Christian martyrs who sacrificed their lives for God and their faith. The heroism of our martyrs and the ANZACs is an invitation for us to give our everyday but nonetheless “heroic” sacrifices to our gracious God who sacrificed his only son to free us from the effects of sin.
TEA AND COFFEE WILL BE SERVED WITH ANZAC BISCUITS after each Mass this weekend: 7pm Saturday evening and 11am Sunday in the quadrangle; 9am Sunday in the hall.
