Today marks the end of the 3 step process initiated by the Diocesan Renewal team. Renewal is an ongoing process which began several years ago with changes to protocols for EMHC; production of an Easter Triduum booklet, changes in the liturgy; Parish Mission, faith enrichment talks (held twice yearly), greater participation by the acolyte ministry in both the liturgy and Communion Services for the elderly and community building initiatives. As part of ongoing renewal, there will be a series of five talks by Dr Chris Carstens from USA focussing on the Eucharist. They will be held November at both Saint Thomas More and Saint Benedict’s. Please mark your diaries for the Bateman talks on 10th – 12th November. (Details later). Father Phong.
Questionnaire : Bateman parish responded very generously by answering the first set of 2 questions at the start of the ADSUMUS process. This follow up questionnaire will provide the Diocesan ADSUMUS team with helpful information. All parishioners are encouraged to answer the 2 questions. Thank you.

ADSUMUS – A REVITALISATION PROGRAM
Our parish is participating in Adsumus – a revitalisation program developed by the Diocesan Parish Renewal Team under the guidance of Bishop Don Sproxton.
“Adsumus Sancte Spiritus” meaning “We stand before you O Holy Spirit” is the opening line of the prayer historically used at church councils and synods for hundreds of years.
The aim of Adsumus is to create a greater awareness of what it means to be as a parishioner and an invitation to participate in parish life. The parish has already been undertaking a renewal program for several years providing more avenues for spiritual and social activities. Adsumus will be a continuation of what the parish is already doing.

Adsumus Sancte Spiritus:
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts.
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
