WEDNESDAY FAITH PROGRAM – 9TH SEPTEMBER AT 10AM
In the coming session on Wed, 9th Sep, we continue looking at Bishop Robert Barron’s video series entitled:
Conversion – (Following the Call of Christ). Bishop Baron is the founder of Word on Fire.
In the previous session we saw the conversion stories of Bartimaeus (the blind man) and the rich young man.
Now we will look at the calling of Matthew and Jonah and their true conversion.
They were people just like you and me going about daily routine of life and called to a better life to serve God.
In the hands of the dynamic Bishop Barron, these familiar stories become inspirational journeys of humility and courage, the call of Christ, change and trust.
In Matthew we will see, from a tax collector, the circumstances that leads him to become a Disciple of Jesus and Jonah who at first runs as far as possible from God and later renews his choice and makes a round about turn.
So come and be inspired to Conversion. The next video session is on 9th Sep, in the Parish meeting room from 10am-11.30am .
Dates for your diary:
- 9 Sept: The Calling of Matthew and Jonah
- 23 Sept: The Woman at the well and the Journey of the Magi
All are welcome. Bring a mug if you wish to make a cuppa for yourself. There will be a short reflection and sharing between the two stories in each session.

FREEDOM, LOVE AND RESPONSIBILITY COURSE AT CYM
WEDNESDAY 2ND, 9TH, 16TH AND 23RD SEPETMEBR AT 7.30PM – 8.30PM
In partnership with Centre for Faith Enrichment, this course is aimed at young adults and those interested in learning the Church’s deep and inspiring understanding of sexuality and sexual ethics. It will focus on Saint Pope John Paul II’s book Love and Responsibility, which arose from his pastoral care of young people, couples preparing for marriage and married couples. The idea behind the book was to assist people in maturing their eros from attraction, to romantic love, to true friendship, to the surrender of self in spousal love. We will discuss JPII’s concept of the primacy of the person in love, the sexual drive as part of our personhood, dealing with shame, the true meaning of chastity, and living justice in marriage.
When: Wednesdays 2 – 23 September, 7:30pm – 8:30pm
Suggested Donation: $20.00 (4 sessions – includes light supper)
Presenter: Ms Natalie Thomas
Location: ONSITE with limited capacity (Catholic Pastoral Centre, 40A Mary St, Highgate) and ONLINE via Zoom
