Personal Advocacy Service an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, provides support for people with varying degrees of intellectual disability to enable them to live more fully as active members of their local community.
St. John and Paul Parish, Willetton hosts 2 groups in the parish centre on a Monday and Thursday evening. We draw on a pool of friends and advocates from Murdoch to Canning Vale area.
Due to personal and health reasons we are losing 2 volunteer Advocates at the end of 2017 and are looking for someone to fill those positions from February 2018. No prior training is necessary. We provide all the training needed. As Archbishop Timothy Costelloe recently shared in his homily at the 25th Anniversary of St. Thomas More: “No, we have been given the gift of faith because in God’s mysterious plan we are the ones through whom God wishes to offer the gift of faith to others,” Archbishop Costelloe said. Through its unique program, based on sharing activities, sharing life experiences and enjoying a light supper together, we travel the faith journey together.
