The Bateman Parish Pastoral Council invites parishioners to support our clergy by
participating in the NOVENA FOR PRIESTS from Saturday 27th July to Saturday
4th August. Children and adults are invited and urged to participate. The final day
of the novena is timed to be on the feast day of St. John Vianney who is the patron saint of priests.
As you may know a novena is an act of religious pious devotion originating in ancient Christianity, often consisting of private or public prayers repeated for nine
successive days. The parish council is inviting you to offer at least one ”Hail Mary”
on each of the nine days. However, fasting, attending daily mass, or reciting the
novena prayer (which you’ll find cards available in the foyer) are preferred options.
When you conclude your chosen novena prayer, please complete a NOTIFICATION SLIP and place it in the box provided in the foyer of the church. Your name
is not required. The slips will be collected and presented to our priests as a sign of
encouragement and support.
If you would like to contribute to the work of the Support of Clergy Subcommittee,
please add you name to the sheet on the table in the foyer of the church.
